Mike Dubey
Owner & Principal Trainer — Dua Training
Mike Dubey is the owner and principal trainer at Dua Training, bringing a career spanning military service, industrial engineering, and tertiary education to every course he delivers.
Mike began his engineering career in the Royal Air Force, working on aircraft maintenance including the Harrier and the Red Arrows display team. During this time he obtained formal qualifications in mechanical and refrigeration engineering through City & Guilds.
After emigrating to New Zealand, Mike progressed through senior engineering roles at Refrigeration Engineering, Raph Engle Systems (design and project engineering), and New American Ice Cream (overseeing engineering operations across multiple locations).
He then moved into tertiary education as a lecturer at Manukau Institute of Technology, later becoming Senior Lecturer. During his time there he was honoured with the IRHACE Award for Commitment to Training and Education — a testament to his dedication to the industry.
Mike founded Dua Training after collaborating with IRHACE on the Fillers and Handler scheme, developing the training materials and certification processes now used across the industry.
